The Independent Business
Magazine for Leyland
Councillor Donnie Parkinson – former Mayor of South Ribble
Leyland Leader magazine - what a brilliant publication it is! Long may it continue to advertise and encourage us to use the many excellent local businesses it showcases.
Stuart Campbell
SBC Alarms have been advertising in the Leyland Leader for some time now, SBC Alarms was a little sceptical when I read "IT REALLY WORKS FOR ME" but it does. 90% of my work comes from the Leyland Leader.
Adrian Halsall, Eyesentials Opticians
Eyesentials Opticians highly recommend advertising with the Leyland Leader, we have advertised since the very first issue and they have always gone out of their way to provide excellent service. They are local people and are a pleasure to deal with.
Greg Heath, Derbyshire Booth Financial Management
When we started advertising five years ago I admit I was unsure of its worth to us in the pensions and investment world. However as the banking crisis unfolded people returned to the benefits of local, impartial, face to face advice. Leyland Leader proved to be the link to those people.
Mike Beesley, Chief Executive, Wellington Park
We just need to tell the local business community the Leyland Leader really does work for local businesses. The Leader hits the right door mats in the right areas at the right time. Well done Keith and the team, keep up the good work.
Shaun Bradbury, managing director of the Wrennalls Group
From our Leyland base we have national and international connections but we never forget our Leyland roots. Regular advertising in Leyland Leader helps Wrennalls maintain a local profile as we continue to serve local people.
Steve Wheatland, Sovereign Blinds
Sovereign Blinds has been advertising in the Leyland Leader from the beginning. We have found it to be a very valuable and cost effective medium for reaching the local population, we can change our message quickly and take advantage of an ever changing retail environment. Keith has also been very helpful in identifying certain useful opportunities and making suggestions regarding marketing matters.
Keith and Ann at The Lord Nelson. Brindle
Cheers Keith, thank you for all your help and great ideas the Leader has helped and is still helping our business grow. It is a quality, professional, well put together useful guide for business's and customers alike. Well done Mr. Bradshaw I think you should consider branching further afield with this marvellous little book. Keep up the good work, we salute you.
Sarah Wright and all at Wrights Opticians
I'd like to say that in the 17 years I've been here at Wrights Opticians, I have advertised in a great many places from the Yellow Pages to the sides of buses, doctors appointment cards and TV screens in nurseries etc, the list is endless. The Leyland Leader has been the best, most efficient, most widely read, best received and best targeted media we have advertised in. We have had brilliant feedback. Our established patients really appreciate that we run articles, not just 'special offer' type adverts, but things like our macula degeneration awareness editorial and our ultra violet and childrens vision topics. And we have had a lot of new patients who have come to us through reading our company history and staff profiles (something you can’t do in Yellow Pages!) - I think people like to find a new place to patron, based on individual attention they will receive there and knowing the history of the company and the people they will be dealing with, especially when it’s something as important as their eye health. And via the Leader, we've been able to put across our services and our qualifications and so on.
Rick Blakeley, director of Frank Blakeley & Son Ltd.
Thank you Leyland Leader, you have helped to raise our standing in Leyland. Trade counter sales have definitely increased through consistent advertising in the magazine.
Lisa Whalley, Ashleigh Accountancy

Paul Newsham, Director Haines Watts Chartered Accountants
We were in at the start, when Leyland Leader was no more than an idea. In difficult economic times, Leyland Leader has grown steadily and we have been delighted to support through advice and regular advertising. Keith also assists us with public relations and dealings with the local media.
Malc Wilkinson, MW Garden Maintenance
I have advertised in nearly every issue of Leyland Leader and it’s gone from success to success. I get regular enquiries and lots of work as a result. Well done, Keith

Marian Gray, Optometrist
When I moved from Towngate to Hough Lane, I needed to advertise my new location to the people of Leyland. I tried a number of ways but the Leader proved to be the most successful. Even now, every week, people come to me and say "I found you in the Leader". Keep up the good work!
Bill Whyte, Bill Whyte Floorcoverings
We have been advertising in the Leyland Leader since the conception of the booklet, and have been extremely satisfied with the results received. Well Done.
Cy Marshall, Maison Cy Hairdressers
In May 2010, Maison Cy set up in business, same time as Leyland Leader. For most of the time since then we have advertised in the magazine. I am delighted with everything and grateful to Keith for all his help, keep up the great work.
John Maddock, Painting & Decorating
Leyland Leader has enabled me to advertise not just my profession, but my skills and background. I’ve found that clients like to know who they are inviting into their home and where to find them. The personal touch is well advertised in a user-friendly format. It’s the best advertising money I have ever spent.
Sally and Lee at Parkinson’s Bakery
Thank you for providing Traders in the Leyland area with a fantastic medium with which to advertise their products and services. We have found it a great success.
Long may the Leyland Leader continue!!
Mike Wareing, Handy Mike & Co.
It is one of four places I advertised when I started the business and it is the only one that works for me.I have advertised in a Telephone directory owned by a cat that cost me £600 and I didn't even get a phone call ! Leyland Leader works for me!
Keith McIntosh, Rosemere Golfers Against Cancer
The excellent standard of the Leyland Leader is a credit to Keith and his proactive interest and commitment to support and promote local business & the voluntary community in Leyland is outstanding and very much appreciated.
Michael Foxford, Birchall Blackburn Solicitors
With the invaluable help of Leyland Leader we already feel - after just six months on Hough Lane - like an established part of Leyland life ... Keep it up Keith .... Leyland Leader has helped Birchall Blackburn announce our presence on Hough Lane .... The team at Leyland Leader lead where others can only follow ........ If only Leyland Leader covered [Chorley, Southport, Formby, Manchester etc.] then we would make sure all our offices got the level of exposure Keith and his team have delivered for our new office on Hough Lane ...... Wishing Leyland Leader and everyone involved all the best future.
Jo Venn, Headteacher, Balshaws CE High School, Leyland
The magazine has been a welcome visitor to Balshaw's and a copy is kept for visitors to read, after I have read it myself. It gives us free advertising and it also endorses our school as a valued member of the local community.
Susie Poppitt, Fundraising Manger, Derian House Children’s Hospice
Since it first hit the streets, Leyland Leader, under the auspices of Keith Bradshaw, has been hugely supportive of Derian House. Through a series of mentions, advertisements, images and logos, the Leader has been instrumental in promoting the hospice and its events, raising awareness, and generally making sure that we’re “out there” in Leyland and beyond! Many thanks and congratulations, Keith.
